Holiday  Party

Join the fun at Carlene McCarty’s home.  Hot soup will chase away the winter chills.  

This year we will do a Cookie Swap, rather than a Yankee Swap.  

Bring your favorite cookies to share with others and take home a lovely sample of new and different treats.  
Take-home containers will be provided.

NEW THIS YEAR! Please bring one of the following items to the party-- a new pair of socks or mittens, a scarf, or a warm hat.  

These items will be given to the Overflow Shelter.  If you would prefer to bring a non-perishable food item, we will donate it to the food pantry.  Let’s spread holiday cheer!

Making Holiday Centerpieces

Another garden club holiday tradition continues! Nancy Renaud will lead us during this fun evening in making exquisite holiday centerpieces.  Members may make one centerpiece at no cost.  The cost of a second item will be $10.  Non-members will be charged $10 per item.

Making Wreaths & Roping

The tradition of creating beautiful holiday wreaths continues.  This year Nancy Renaud will also teach us how to make roping.

Members may make one wreath at no cost. The cost for additional wreaths or roping is $10 per item.  Non-members are welcome to attend this fun evening at a cost of $10 per item.

Souper Supper

Making Corn Husk Dolls - Riina Viise

Join us for delicious homemade autumnal-themed soups, breads and desserts.  After enjoying this harvest feast, craft artist Riina Viise will teach us how to make corn husk dolls.

PLEASE BRING:  your own place setting (placemat, napkin, plate, cup, bowl, goblet, utensils) and a miniature fall arrangement to put at your place setting.  The arrangement will be the horticulture component for the evening.

This program is free to members. $10 fee for non-members.  Please RSVP to by  October 9 to insure adequate supplies are available.  Thank you.

Honoring Herbs & Their Uses

Herbs are important components in any garden, yet sometimes are overlooked.  We will share ways to use herbs, information and  ideas, as well as some  recipes.  Members will also have the opportunity to make herb scrubs...please bring 1 cup of granulated sugar for use in creating the scrubs. If you have herbs to share/donate, please bring them with you.

Bring your bathing suit, beach toys, a chair, towel, and food to share. If you have a kayak, bring it along as well.

Butterfly Bliss -Jerry Schneider

Beneficial Plants - Mary Heninger, Dynamic Landscaping 

Butterflies are beautiful, beneficial additions to any garden.  
Learn the tricks of encouraging their appearance in your garden from the “Butterfly Man,” Jerry Schneider.  Jerry will share his expertise, introduce us to plants that court butterflies and also have available his butterfly-themed games.  Mary Heninger of Dynamic Landscaping will discuss the best plants for attracting butterflies.  Plants will be available for purchase.

how to effectively prune to correct the natural pruning done 
by Mother Nature during the winter.

We will also decorate a clay or plastic pot that may be used to house your blooming bulbs.  If you have a specific sized flower pot in mind, please bring your own; otherwise pots will be supplied.
