1765 - August 22, Thomas Strickland sold to John Wade, 184 acres of land originally bought from George Sellers by Joseph Strickland who willed it to Exum Strickland who died childless and the said Thomas, heir, being the eldest brother's son inherited. (Northampton NC Deeds, Book 3, page 419)

1765 - August 22, Thos Strickland sold 184 acres patented by George Sellers and signed over to Joseph Strickland who willed it to Axum Strickland who had no issue and the said Thomas Strickland was his eldest brother’s son ?!@#$%^&*? and inherited the land.  Doesn't make sense!  It would appear the eldest son of Joseph was Axum who had no issue!  Should it say eldest son's brother???
