William Thomas, Jesse Braswell, James Peding.(Page 362, Southampton Co., VA Will Book II)  NOTE: Jesse moved to Brunswick County Virginia. This line is DNA proved and Jesse is not a descendant of the Reverend Robert Bracewell.

FACT 3 - RICHARD BRASWELL'S LAND (Susannah's son) WAS LOCATED IN SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY VIRGINIA AFTER IT'S CREATION FROM COUNTIES ISLE OF WIGHT & SURRY:

1736 - June 2, Richard Brassell, Isle of Wight Co., from Mosses Faircloth of Isle of Wight Co., for five shillings, 100 acres bounded as followeth Viz Beginning at a Gum stand in Nottoway Swamp at the mouth of Bardens Branch so up the Branch to a pine standing in Thos Craford’s line from then along a line of marked trees to a pine standing by the side of a branch so down that branch to a white oak standing Nottoway Swamp so down the various courses of the run of the swamp to the first station""part of a patent for 475 acres granted June 16, 1714 to Matthew Rufhen and Edward Goodson & by the said Rufhen & Goodson devis’d unto William Faircloth, Senr by deeds of lease and release & released by a power of attorney bearing date the twenty fifth day of March one Thousand Seven Hundred & twenty one and by the said Wm. Faircloth willed to his son Moses Faircloth" . Wit: John (signed) Brassell, Giles Smelly, Wm. (+) Brassell. Release was dated June 23, 1736. FACT 4 - EDMUND SPENCER'S WILL IS A CRUCIAL DOCUMENT CONNECTING SUSANNAH'S SONS RICHARD & JAMES.

1784 - September 1, Edmund Spencer Of the Parish of St. Luke. Leg: son David; son William; son Ezekiel; son in law Nathan Jackson and his wife Sarah, land bought of Arthur Vick; son Jesse; wife Mary; son in law Drewry Beal; daughter Elizabeth Spencer. A. Arthur Vick who sold land to Edmund Spencer is the son of Richard Vick who was adjacent to Richard Braswell.  Richard Vick
bought land from Richard Braswell's sons, William & Joseph Braswell.  (See 1746 deed above under FACT 3)

C. Lucinda Fiers, daughter of William Fiers & Elizabeth Spencer, married Elijah Braswell, descendant of James Braswell, son of Susannah.  DNA proves that James Braswell is not a descendant of the Reverend Robert Bracewell, neither is he a match to the Braswells named in Richard Towle's Will.

FACT 5  THE SELLERS CONNECTION

A. Richard Braswell, son of Susannah, lived adjacent to William Sellers.  See 1731 patent under FACT 4. 

B. Richard Braswell's son William bought land from Arthur Sellers, who was related in some way to William and Providence Sellers,
and George Sellers who married Faith Gurley.

1749 - May 23, Arthur Sellers to William Braswell, both of Northampton, for 2.3 pounds of silver, 100 acres, part of a patent to Thos. Wall for 340 acres 16 Mar 1742/43, on south east side of Correroy Swamp in County aforesaid, beginning At a corner pine then along a line of marked trees to an ash in the swamp then down the swamp to Boons line then along Boons line to Wm Bryants line then along Bryants line to the first station. C.  Jesse Braswell who moved to Brunswick County Virginia witnessed the will of Faith Gurley's father, George, who apparently
knew Richard Braswell's neighbor, William Sellers. See George Gurley's will under FACT 2.

1737 - June 11&12,  Lease and release from William Seller of Isle of Wight to George Gurley of Isle of Wight, for 100 pounds of pork and tobacco and for divers good causes, about 100 acres in Isle of Wight and bounded by trees. The yearly rent is 1 grain of Indian Corn, if demanded. Wm. (W) Seller, Providence (I) Seller. No witnesses. Rec: June 27, 1737. 1785 - Benjamin Brassell, Nathan Brassell and William Braswell each was Granted 100 acres in Anson Co., NC on October 14, 1783

1779 - January 8, William Brazil entered 100 acres on Pelhams' Fork in Anson County NC. (same William as above)

1787 - August 11, Britain Braswell to Joackim Hudson. Being 100 acres on the south west side of the Pee Dee on Pelhams Fork and adjoining Nathaniel Byby. The land was granted 14 Oct 1783 to Benjaman Braswell and conveyed to Britain Braswell 1785. Witnesses were Thomas Lacy, William Benton, and Stephen Lacy. (Deed B2-35)


1787 - October 1, Nathan Braswell of Richmond County NC to Joackim Hudson. Being 100 acres on the west side of the Pee Dee and on the banks of Pelhams Creek. This land was granted to Nathan Braswell 14 Oct 1783. Witnesses were Thomas Lacy and Stephen Lacy. (Deed B2-37)

1789 - September 1, Joackim Hudson to Wm Hudson, being 100 acres on both sides of Pelhams fork adjoining lands of Nathaniel Byby and Nathaniel Braswell lands. This land was originally granted to Benjamin Braswell. Witnesses were Buckner Kimball and Hall Hudson. (Deed B2-270)
