Dr Jakub Mieczkowski

I received a master's degree in mathematics and applied statistics in 2008 from the Warsaw University. I got interested in brain tumor biology and gene regulation, and those interests directed me to a biological laboratory where in 2013 I did my PhD. In years 2013-2016 as a research postdoctoral fellow in Genetics at Harvard Medical School I have been involved in projects focused on epigenetic factors influencing chromatin states.

I am interested in identification of deregulations in diseases and in application this knowledge to novel therapeutics. My main interest lies in understanding alternations in chromatin organizationand signaling pathways in brain tumors, as well as developing statistical methods that integrate diverse types of data (genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic etc.) and provide answers to clinically related questions.
