Bartosz Czapski MD

Biography

In 2013 graduated from Medical University of Gdansk being honored with Medical University Rector’s Award for Academic Merit and University Students’ Council Award. In the academic year 2010/2011 participated in LLP-Erasmus exchange program in Perugia, Italy. His medical education was followed by an obligatory 1-year internship in undermentioned hospitals: 7th Polish Navy Hospital in Gdansk and University Clinical Center in Gdansk. In 2013, he also completed an additional internship in the field of Neurosurgery in Ibn-i Sina Hastanesi, Ankara, Turkey, under supervision of Gokmen Kahilogullari, MD, PhD.

At present, he undergoes his professional training in Neurosurgery in the following institutions: Department of Neurosurgery (Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, Warsaw) and Department of Central Nervous System Tumors (Institute of Oncology, Warsaw). In 2015 he began his PhD at  the School of Molecular Medicine (Warsaw Medical University) and started his work at the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology (Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology ).


Research Interest:

Genetic and epigenetic factors of glial tumors pathogenesis; neurooncology; stem cells; new therapeutic approaches to CNS tumors.

- Resident of neurosurgery at the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurotraumatology of the Postgraduate Medical Education Center in Warsaw

- Junior Assistant at the Gamma Knife Center in Warsaw

- Member of the Polish Consortium of Glioma Treatment

- Member of the EACR European Association for Cancer Research

- Resident of neurosurgery in the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology (2014 - 2016)

- Clinical Fellow in surgical neurooncology in the Institute of Oncology in Warsaw (2014 - 2016)
