RSHPE

West Dunbartonshire Council -Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Edcuation

This section of the website aims to give parents and carers clear information about the learning taking place in Braehead Primary in relation to Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Education (RSHPE). This programme is taught in all West Dunbartonshire Schools and has been developed by Glasgow City Council in partnership with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.  WDC carried out an evaluation of the programme and agreed with would be a very useful tool for use in schools across West Dunbartonshire.

This new approach to teaching RSHPE includes a wider range of subjects eg. dealing with relationships, safety, developing skills etc than was previously taught.  The programme aims to encourage parents and carers to become more involved in their child's RSHPE learning and provides age appropriate information to accompany lessons.

Please use the files below to find out about what is taught at each stage in Braehead Primary. The presentation below explains why a new approach to RSHPE was needed please take time to watch the presentation.
