Educational My central concern is in the student learning the subject matter in the most effective manner in the class.
Pedagogy: The resultant pedagogy is called "active learning" and "cooperative learning". This means the student must
take responsibility for his/her own learning. Further, learning occurs best in students teaching other students.
Finally, learning is a social activity, best done in groups and in relation to other students.
Research has confirmed that active learning/cooperative learning is the most effective way that students learn.
Similarly, this is the best way for students to prepare to for knowledge-based industries in the new economy.
For this Summer 2012, we have designed a "Flipped Classroom", a type of hybrid course design.
