He got a goal. The Brooklyn Cyclones are wearing special jerseys with the Italian flag on them because the game was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus in honor of Italian-American heritage. What it meant for my brother and I was that when we went to upgrade our seats (as is my custom), mob-looking guys in hawaiian shirts said "how can I help you," and "you can't sit in these sections without a ticket." They were able to keep the the six sections starting behind home plate whites only for the whole game and I saw one of the Knights of Columbus run ahead of a guy with a black eye and wipe down six seats with a towel for him and his family. I worked as a video camera operator at an event once where Italian-Americans had a black tie dinner and Governor Pataki and Mario Andretti and the CEO of Cablevision bragged about how it was tough to make money because banking is for Jews, but Italians are so enterprising they've been successful anyway and then they griped about how they're portrayed in the media. No joke.

I guess if you go to Honolulu, you've got to get a picture of Diamond head. I snapped this one on my way to Shore Birds on Waikiki Beach. I didn't think there was enough light at dusk, but I guess it turned out OK. Today at Pearl Harbor I snapped a picture of a Japanese distroyer flying it's flag with the Arizonia Memorial in the background. It was kind of a strange sight. Afterwords, I saw a sign prohibiting photography, so out of respect for the rules, I will not post the picture. Dinner today was pretty cool tonight. I ate at a "grill your own" steak place. I cooked it to a perfect medium and loaded it up with garlic buter a la Ruth's Chris. It was perfection. Tomorrow is my last day of work here in Hawaii. It's a formal meeting, but I'm told that no one wears ties and Hawaiian shirts are acceptable. I'm going to look pretty stupid if somebody's pulling my leg. I won't care, though. I'm always glad not to wear a tie ;-)
