SOTO CORRIDOR AND NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) is hosting an open house for the Soto Corridor and Neighborhood Safety Improvement Project on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:00 PM. This project will create a network of “neighborhood-friendly streets” to improve the safety and comfort of people walking and bicycling in the neighborhood of the Sheridan and Breed Streets Elementary Schools. The project area is Wabash to 8th Streets, and Soto to St. Louis Streets. Combinations of curb extensions, crosswalks, speed humps and road diet (travel lane removal) along Soto Street are being implemented to achieve calmer traffic on neighborhood streets, reduced speeds and increased safety on routes to school.
