MoonFlower is a cutter rigged GRP open water sailing yacht, designed by

Holman & Pye London,

who also have designed many Oyster yachts and she was build under survey to A100 Lloyds Specifications

She is slender, elegant and spirited.

MoonFlower was completely restored in 2003/2004&2007 from masttop to bottom by professional craftsmen @ the Cairns Boat Yard and in Phuket, Thailand; 

no expenses were spared and MF is set up for long range ocean cruising, ready to take you anywhere......

Classic Teak interior fully revarnished with repairs made 2007, new lining on fully insulated cabin roof

 

Cabin set up:

1x master state room w ensuite head, 1 forward double,

1 crew cabin w 2 berths, 2 Heads w 1 hot and cold shower and 1 electric toilet (2004), L shaped galley, lrg saloon with new sunbrella upholstery. Chart table and radio station, 1 tool room, 1 engine room. She offers 6 feet plus headroom for easy living. Plenty off storage possibilities.

 

Deck:

fully sanded back and resprayed with Jotun Paint 2007

New windows with mirror polished stainless steel frames

Sunbrella bimini and full sun cover  ( 2007) and dodger over cockpit, new 2005, new lazy jack, dinghy cover and deck covers made with sunbrella fabric, 2007

 

Hull:

Solid GRP, no balsa or foam core to rot,

fully sanded back to gelcoat and resprayed with Jotun Paint

Mast: resprayed 2003, all wiring, lights etc new 2003

Rigging: st/st, checked and approved with repairs made June 2004 & 2007 and mostly new running rigging, 6 st/st lewmar self tailing winches

Furling Head and Stay sails. Fully battened main sail w 3 reefing points

 

Bottom:

fully sanded back to gelcoat and antifouled with International, July 2003, re-painted 2005, 2006 and late 2007

 

Engine:

Perkins 55 HP Reconditioned Diesel and Warner gearbox, outhaul in October 2008 with new pistons, piston chambers, water pump, fuel injector, etc, cruises at 6.5 knots with approx 1.7 lt/hrs

2 alternators (55 and 210 amp w switch for fast charging),

Engine was completly rewired Oct. 2006, reconditioned starter motor and 2 new alternators, waterpumps, bilge pumps, engine failure alarms,

Moonflower

 

is a fast and strong cruising yacht build for any weather condition. Her classic lines and regained beauty turns heads in every anchorage or marina. She is quiet sturdy, capable of handling heavy seas and possible collisions with floating objects and is managable for shorthanded cruising.

 

He owner sailed her from Darwin, Australia singlehanded via Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia to Thailand in 2006; than via the Maldives and Red Sea to Egypt and the Med. In her earlier days she ventured to exotic places as Japan and East Asia and proofed well on many races with line honors in the Australian-Hawaii“Clipper Cup”.

 

 

Her set-up lets you cruise with minimal effort and cruising speeds of 8+ knots gives her the adventage of short passage making from the safe and well sheltered centre cockpit.

 

Watch her sail from the large entertaining aft deck with the gas BBQ, teak table and benches while listening to your favorite music.

Enjoy your meal while the sun sets, all prepared in the Chef''s 

stainless steel and timber galley or from the aft deck Magna BBQ.
