well...they got the "monster" part right!!! i'd like to thank (NOT) my friend james for giving me this to try. although i must say it sure was yummy, i was pretty much like an ADD 12yr old who just inhaled 475 candy bars and also smoked some crack. i must say i always thought that these "energy drinks" were a load of crap....well, i'm here to say that they are most certainly NOT. stupidly i drank it at 4pm. thought it was pretty groovy as it's definitely usually my sleepy time of the day and all of a sudden i felt like i could join the marines and go to battle w/well...anyone. i decided to take advantage and do some cleaning. before i knew it i'd vacuumed the house in a fraction of a second, put away a bunch of piles of laundry (although i don't really remember doing it and am sure i'll find some things in strange places like the fridge and or stove....), used those funny smelling old english wipes on various strange pieces of furniture around the house....oh and also all of the spindles on the stairs (who does that?!?!), let the dogs out to pee...forgot about them and let them in about 40 minutes later...after they ate every blade of grass in the backyard, changed the oil in my car (kidding on that one...i think) and did a whole bunch of other random weird shit. i could not come down and i felt like i sucked down a million packets of soy sauce as i was totally parched. i ran to wawa (almost litterally) and bought one huge bucket of lemonade and one of ice tea. came home mixed them together and was throwing it down my throat like i'd just eaten fire. there are other things that i did that were out of character as well .....but i think that's been enough of a story for now. soooo..... the moral here is this: energy drinks work.... i mean really work.
My Favorite Energy Drink
My Favorite Energy Drink
I was playing around with white backgrounds today and thought I'd try a quick product type of shot. I grabbed a can of my favorite morning pick-me-up drink and started shooting. It was actually a little more challenging than I thought it would be to shoot against a white background. I was trying to minimize shadows as much as possible. On this shot, I had my 580EXII through a white umbrella just to the right of the camera. I think the edge of the umbrella was actually hitting the side of the camera. At the same time, I was holding my other light stand with the LP120 through an umbrella over the can about a couple of feet up. Both flashes were at about 1/4 power. In Ps, I selected the can to mask it and used that to do a couple of levels layers. One to whiten up the background to a more pure white and the other layer to darken up the black on the can and add some contrast. The can was actually cold from the fridge, so I was fogging up a bit, which might explain some of the lack of shine on it.

Monster Lo-carb Energy 16-Ounce., 27.5 LBS Cans (Pack of 24)
LoCarb Monster definitely has some good things going for it First of all we think its extremely wise of them to use the LoCarb tag line instead of Diet it sounds much more appealing In addition the can design is a good use of the original design but only time will tell if consumers will be confused as they are extremely similar As for the flavor the lowcarb formulation is quite palatable and tastes better than a true sugar free Obviously this means that the product cannot be sold to those who cannot consume sugars but we still think it will be a hit with the calorie conscious consumer who would like a better tasting product.
