(above) Opps!! music and chimney photo by Judy Dehaney There's nothing more fitting than having too much fun and not really thinking things through before thoroughly soaking ones camera with a bucket of water! I'd realized a good split second before it hit the ground that I'd thrown it a little too far :) I've added a bucket/hose attachment to the de-humidifier so that now it only has to be emptied once a day.. Getting the basement drain-pipe to actually drain is next on my list. Tomorrow we'll do another box of pear/plum preserves before they turn on us.. The barn, tree branches, iron/water filters, creosote, storage, a new chimney and the de-humidifier are just a few things left to take care of before I leave. I'll do my best to resist a sojourn when I'm finished here and back in Prague! On that note, I hope to finally have steady "paying" work *and* my impalpable Czech Trade License at hand before the end of November (I won't believe it until I see it :) "From the cruiser" by Wendy Elliott We did our weekly trip into town today. One of the local newspapers has an RCMP (police) update. Here are just a few of the reports from around here: "A woman as reported drinking all day October 16 outside an eatery in Kingston." "A group of young adults was playing football in traffic on Gaspereau Ave. in Wolfville. They were located and warned of the danger." "Police were asked to identify a possible counterfeit $10 bill." "A Gaspereau Ave. resident reported an young adult dumping food waste off a fire escape at 11:29 p.m."
what's in the bin
what's in the bin
I knew it! And it *was* true! (above right and bottom, clockwise) - 8 track tape cartridge: Tim Weisberg's "Night Rider" (1979) - salt & pepper shakers: Aunt Jemima and her plastic life partner (1962) - Atlas Asbestos Oil Burner Wick (1967) - blessed hand (no date) - army rations: MRE's, Meals Ready to Eat (2001) I'm eager to say that none of these things are mine.. From community yard sales to junk days there have been some interesting things, but nothing worth storing ad infinitum. The blessed hand is tempting I must say. My rule, in actuality, still holds true and comparatively has been a saving grace - for every one thing collected, two must be given away.. The barn, tree branches, iron/water filters, creosote, storage, a new chimney and the de-humidifier are just a few things left to take care of before I leave. I'll do my best to resist a sojourn when I'm finished here and back in Prague! One of the local newspapers has an RCMP (police) update. This one struck me as being on the verge of sentimentality: "From the cruiser" by Wendy Elliott "Two boys were riding bikes on the wrong side of Church Street near Port Williams without wearing helmets. The caller offered to buy the lads helmets 'if they would wear them.'"
