A Letter from the Director

I am writing on behalf of the Boston Resource Center, the mental health consumer-run support and advocacy center located on the fifth floor of the Solomon Carter Fuller Building, 85 East Newton Street on the BMC campus.  The resource center is co-sponsored by the BMC Dept. of Psychiatry, the state Department of Mental Health and NAMI-Greater Boston Consumer Advocacy/Affiliate Network.

The clients and consumers who are served in the Resource Center often are in need of clothing, especially clients of the co-ed crisis stabilization unit who may have no changes of clothing.

Therefore, I am asking that you consider donating "gently used", clean items of clothing that are in good repair.  Any and all items for men and women can be used: slacks, shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc. With winter approaching, you might want to get rid of last year's coat to make room for the new one you've been thinking of buying for yourself!

The Resource Center is located on the 5th floor of the Fuller Building and is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 4 pm.  If you want to drop items off at other than those days/hours, you are welcome to bring them to the BMC department of psychiatry the 8th floor of the Fuller.

Also, the resource center will soon be opening a gift shop in the lobby of the Fuller. If you have any items you would be willing to donate for resale, they can be accepted as well.

In advance, thank you for your kindness.

Howard D. Trachtman, BS, CPS
