The Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS), established in 1999, was initially funded by a $1 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship Program

CIA Undergraduate Scholarship Information

If you are a high school senior planning to enroll in a 4- or 5-year college program, or you are a college freshman or sophomore enrolled in a 4- or 5-year college program, who is looking for career experience in a dynamic environment, apply to the CIA's Undergraduate Scholar Program.

  • US citizenship
  • 18 years of age by April 1of your senior year
  • 1500 SAT (1000 Math & Critical Reading, 500 Writing) or 21 ACT scores or higher (high school students)
  • 3.0/4.0 scale high school or college GPA or higher
  • Financial need as demonstrated by the household income ceiling up to $70,000 for a family of four, and $80,000 for a family of five or more
  • Meet the same employment standards as permanent employees, successfully completing both security and medical processing
  • Available to work in the Washington, DC area during your periods of employment

Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Current high school seniors attending school in the United States; anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application; planning to pursue a degree at an accredited US post-secondary institution; carrying a minimum 3.00 gpa at the end of their junior year of high school; applicants may not be children or grandchildren of employees, officers or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies.

Deadline: October 31 of the senior year


Wendy's High School Heisman Award

Are YOU Heisman Worthy? Wendy’s Restaurants have teamed up with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee to create the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. The award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership.


Ayn Rand Essay Scholarships

The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Irvine, California, works to introduce young people to Ayn Rand’s novels, to support scholarship and research based on her ideas, and to promote the principles of reason, rational self-interest, individual rights and laissez-faire capitalism to the widest possible audience.

Ron Brown Scholar Program

Named for the late Secretary of Commerce and inspired by his dedication to public service, the Ron Brown Scholar Program was established in 1996 to provide academic scholarships, service opportunities and leadership experiences for young African Americans of outstanding promise.


Holocaust Remembrance Scholarship

The project serves as a living memorial to the millions of innocent victims of the Holocaust. The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation recognizes the moral imperative of teaching young people about this watershed event and the central importance of passing on to future generations a profound understanding of the consequences of the Holocaust and a sense of responsibility to the human community.


Horatio Alger Scholarship Application

The eligibility criteria to be considered for National Scholarships and Horatio Alger State Scholarship Programs are as follows:

  • enrollment full time as a high school senior, progressing normally toward graduation in the Spring/Summer 2011, with plans to enter college no later than the fall following graduation;
  • a strong commitment to pursuing and completing a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution located in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution. Idaho, Louisiana, and Montana state scholarship recipients must pursue and complete a degree at specific colleges and universities. Please see the individual program description for those requirements);
  • critical financial need ($50,000 or less adjusted gross income per family is preferred, if higher explanation must be provided);
  • involvement in co-curricular and community activities;
  • demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
  • United States Citizenship.
