When you double-click an Internet shortcut in a Microsoft Outlook Express e-mail message, your Web browser may not start or may not connect to the Web page.

Follow the steps below:

Set Internet Explorer as the default browser

To set Internet Explorer to be the default Internet Browser, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

Double-click the Internet or Internet Options icon, and then click Programs.

Then click  'Make default' button under Default web browser

(This button looks greyed out if IE is already your default browser)

Correct your file association

If that didn't work, you must correct your file association. To do this, change the name of the program that is associated with Internet shortcuts to the long file name of your Web browser. Follow the screenshots below:

If this didn't work, you can repeat the steps for all URL file types. You may find the following URL file types:
URL:Gopher Protocol
URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol
URL:Hypertext Transfer protocol with Privacy

URL:Internet Shortcut
