          HP Director software may not work properly with IE7 and you may receive a lot of error messages. If that is the case then here is a solution for you:

When HP Diretor is Installed in your system, There is a folder with the name 'Digital Imaging', and it may be created in any one of these two locations given below,during your HP Director Installation:

   c:/program files /hewlett-packard/digital imaging

       or

    c:/program files /hp/digital imaging

              A javascript needs to be created and how we create it depends upon where you have the 'digital imaging' folder.

      If you have the folder in 'c:/program files /hewlett-packard/digital imaging', Then continue to script 1. If you have the folder in 'c:/program files /hp/digital imaging' then go to Script  2.

Script 1

 Copy the following script and paste it to a notepad

var WshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");

var dirfile="C:\\Program Files\\Hewlett-Packard\\Digital Imaging\\bin\\Hpqdirec.exe";

var oExec = WshShell.Exec(dirfile);

WScript.Sleep(3000);

WshShell.SendKeys("%( )");  //equivalent of Alt+spacebar

WshShell.SendKeys("nn");  //equivalent of click minimize twice

oExec = WshShell.Exec(dirfile);

Save the file with the name 'hpdirector.js' . Make sure that 'Save as type' is selected for 'All files.' Save the file in your desktop.

  or Download it from script1.js You can rename this into 'hpdirector.js' for recognizing it easily.

Then, If you simply double click on the script file, It will open HP Director for you.

Script 2:

 Copy the following script and paste it to a notepad:

var WshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");

var dirfile="C:\\Program Files\\Hp\\Digital Imaging\\bin\\Hpqdirec.exe";

var oExec = WshShell.Exec(dirfile);

WScript.Sleep(3000);

WshShell.SendKeys("%( )");  //equivalent of Alt+spacebar

WshShell.SendKeys("nn");  //equivalent of click minimize twice

oExec = WshShell.Exec(dirfile);

Save the file with the name 'hpdirector.js' . Make sure that 'Save as type' is selected for 'All files.' Save the file in your desktop.

or download the file from hpdirector.js

 Then, If you simply double click on the script file, It will open HP Director for you.

Note:

If you have any problems in opening the file, then do the following steps:

1. Save the script to the hard disk.

 2. In Windows Explorer hold down Alt and drag the file to the desktop.

3. Right click of the desktop icon

 4. Choose "Properties"

5. Click on the "Shortcut" tab

6. Edit the "Target" by adding wscript+space before the file name (shown with quotes) and space+//B after the name.

7. Click "OK" This makes sure that the Windows Script Host is used to process the script

HP has also released an update for this. The size of the file is 244 MB. Click below to download:
