Paloma is a competitive bodyboarder (not boogieboarder) and is a passionate advocate for ocean conservation. She works day in and day out to improve ocean water quality in south San Diego beaches and to cleanup and restore the Tijuana River. Paloma is a native of Puerto Vallarta and became a volunteer with WiLDCOAST's Clean Water Campaign in '05. She has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of San Diego and is a native spanish speaker.

Paloma has experience working as community organizer for social justice and was pivotal in the success of campaigns that benefited low income families in south San Diego.

Paloma will lead the Canon Limpio project in Tijuana's Los Laureles Canyon; a project which looks to strengthen community capacity for improved solid waste management at the community-behavioral level.
