The goal of Boone Home Assist is to empower parents to educate their children in the home environment with the assistance of credentialed teachers and administrative staff who can help them achieve educational goals.
In return, the school district receives 30% of the federal funding it would receive if that same student were enrolled in full-time public school. These funds are allocated to the HSAP and are used for classroom and library facilities, teaching materials, standardized testing, enrichment classes, special events and field trips. Home educated students may also dual-enroll for sports, extra-curricular activities, testing, or up to 5 credits per semester of academic classes at the Boone public schools. An additional percentage of federal funding goes directly to the school district for those who dual-enroll.
CPI and Immunization Records:
Students enrolled in the Boone Home School Assistance Program must complete a current Competent Private Instruction form. Immunization records or an exemption waiver must also be submitted to the school system.
