Half the funding was put up by the Dunlaps and the other half by the Atlantic and Yadkin RR. The Bonlee & Western had no official depot for itself.

Joshua Causey was the only inhabitant in Bonlee when John Dunlap discovered the area. He was a Civil War veteran

Private Joshua Causey was the only resident in the area that would become Bonlee. He preferred his privacy and resented the building of the town.
