I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach at Whitehouse High School. For the past 18 years, I have been teaching math to high school and middle school students and/or homeschooling my own children. I am a 2002 graduate of Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, OK and hold a bachelor’s of science degree in secondary math education. I also have an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in STEM education and a second Masters in Educational Leadership, both of which I received from UT Tyler.
Although I absolutely love education, my greatest joys are spending time with my amazing husband of 21 years, Lance Bolay, and our three wonderful children, Caleb (11th grade), Abby (8th grade), and Aletheia (5th grade). As a family, we enjoy serving our church, exercise, sports, and spending quality time together outdoors. Before moving to the Tyler area 8 years ago, my family and I called Northwest Arkansas home. However, we have adjusted quite well to being Texans.
I am a very hands-on, student-centered teacher. My goal is for every student in my classroom to experience success and gain a deeper understanding of math through activities, games, relevant work, and data-driven assessments. I am always available to my students and their parents for help, conversations, and discussions. I look forward to working together in making this year an ABSOLUTE success! Go Wildcats!
