Men´s Body Mapping Narratives

The Narratives

In the fall of 2007 a group of 7 long term survivors convened to participate in a 4 day body mapping workshop.   The workshop blended qualitative ethnographic methods and participatory approaches to explore participants’ experiences in creating body maps and any subsequent changes in health behaviour and self-worth that they attribute to the process.

The maps that the men developed were visually stunning.  Overwhelmingly the men who participated enjoyed the process and the maps that were created invited dialogue and engagement.  As a result personal narratives were created to describe the story behind each body map and the overall experience of each participant.

Take a moment to review the narratives.

They truly enrich the story told by each of the men and contextualize the emotions conveyed in the body maps.
