In an article about the use of the iPad 2 and Apple TV in the classroom, Board Cam is cited as one of the apps that you could use (just after the Apple's flagship video edition app iMovie :) ).

A happy customer :)

I like Board Cam for two main reasons.
1. I don't have a doc camera so this fits the bill and
2. Even if I did have a doc camera, it's not that easy to move and rotate the camera to get the best video. Link to the post in the 21MBUSD wiki...

The NYC Office of Educational Technology offered several courses during summer 2011 in order to introduce the latest technologies to the educational community. During the course "iPad for teachers", Board Cam was introduced as a tool for use the iPad 2 as a document camera: "The nice part of having the iPAD 2 is that it displays everything. That includes the camera on the front and on the back. Board Cam allows the iPAD 2 to become a Document Camera. You may want to invest into something with a cradle to hold the iPad upright and in the same location. I like to Altec Lasing Speaker Dock or the iPAD keyboard Dock. This app allows annotation on what the camera is viewing or to have a laser pointer to show something specific." Read more... or  visit the Staten Island-South Brooklyn Professional Development Wiki
