TRAVEL DIRECTIONS

For full details, please consult our university travel pages.

Note: Please be aware that on the weekend before the conference (Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April) there will be disruption on the train network, due to engineering works between Carlisle and Lockerbie. This will effect all trains on the West Coast Mainline to Glasgow. Some replacement bus services will be in operation; see the train operators for more detail.

Glasgow International Airport is the nearest and most convenient airport. Discounted travel is available for delegates for journeys between Glasgow Airport and West End/City Centre with Glasgow Taxis. To take advantage of this, you must pre-book your taxi by phoning +44 (0) 141 429 7070, using the following codes to get the discounted fare.

Glasgow Airport to City Centre: use code GCB 1 set fare £18.00

City Centre to Glasgow Airport: use code GCB 2 set fare £22.00

Be aware that the taxi rank at the airport is operated by a different company, which typically costs £24 for a taxi to the West End.

Glasgow has two main train stations (Queen Street, and Glasgow Central). Both are suitable, with Queen Street offering slightly better access to the subway network.

The University of Glasgow is situated in Glasgow's West End, with the nearest subway station being Hillhead.
