BAMTA (Bluegrass Area music Teachers Association) is a local chapter of KMTA (Kentucky Music Teachers Association), which is affiliated with MTNA (Music Teachers National Association).  It is a nonprofit educational organization representing music teachers in studios, music schools, public schools, private schools, colleges, and universities in the area.

  • Students of all BAMTA members are invited to perform on the BAMTA VALENTINE EXTRAVAGANZA on Sunday, February 11, at Lexington Theological Seminary, 230 Lexington Green Cir, Lexington, KY 40503 (auditorium on 5th floor).  Memorization is not required.  This is a non-competitive, non-adjudicated recital.  For some students it will serve as a good “dry run" on pieces in the works for upcoming competitions; for others it will be just for fun!  Solos and ensembles are all welcome (but bear in mind that there is only one piano).  There will be two recitals:  one at 1:30 and the other at 3:00

  • Thank you for all the students and teachers who participated in last year's "For the Love of Music" recital.
  • BAMTA has raised a lot of money through the use of Kroger Gift Cards.  You can now register your Kroger card online and choose BAMTA as the non-profit organization of your choice.  https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards Once that's done, Kroger will donate a small percentage of the money you spend there to BAMTA.  If you have any questions, please contact Ivy Moore.
