Welcome

 B AMTA (Bluegrass Area music Teachers Association) is a local chapter of KMTA (Kentucky Music Teachers Association), which is affiliated with MTNA (Music Teachers National Association).  It is a nonprofit educational organization representing music teachers in studios, music schools, public schools, private schools, colleges, and universities in the area. 

Announcements
  • BAMTA has raised a lot of money through the use of Kroger Gift Cards.  You can now register your Kroger card online and choose BAMTA as the non-profit organization of your choice.  https://www.kroger.com/communityrewards Once that's done, Kroger will donate a small percentage of the money you spend there to BAMTA.  If you have any questions, please contact Ivy Moore.

      • September 24 (Sat) at 10:30am: BAMTA meeting and Patch Winners' recital at at Gist in Lexington   
      • October 22-24: KMTA State Conference in Louisville (more information at http://www.kymta.org/) 

      • November 5 (Sat) 8:30am-12pm: Lois McCoy Festival at Central Christian Church in Lexington

      • November 6 (Sun) at 2pm: BAMTA meeting and Presentation by Holly Smith (Dalcroze teacher) at Ohavay Zion Synagogue in Lexington
      • December 1 (Thurs) at 7pm in the Bradford Hall Little Theater at EKU: Jae Won Kim will play with a string quartet featuring tenor Gregor Turay and UK string faculty members Dan Mason, Margaret Karp, Wendy Yates and Benjamin Karp. The concert presents a new arrangement of Schubert's Die schöne Müllerin.
      • January 28 (Sat) at 3pm: KMTA/BAMTA Recital at EKU (Open to any member or student; free of charge) 
      • February 11 (Sat) at 3pm (Deadline 1/23/17): "For the Love of Music" - BAMTA meeting and Recital at Lexington Theological Seminary, 230 Lexington Green Cir #300, Lexington, KY 40503
      • March 2 (Thurs) at 7:30pm: Jae Won Kim will play a Guest Recital at EKU
      • March 4 (Sat): Piano Day! A whole day dedicated to piano, with festivals, master classes, presentations, recitals and the extremely special presence of Jane McGrath! 
      • March 23 (Thurs) at 7:30pm: Greg Partain will play a recital dedicated to Beethoven at EKU
      • March 26 (Sun): Bernardo Scarambone will play a chamber recital at EKU, including the Mozart piano quintet
      • April 22 (Sat): Lexington Bach contest (Deadline 3/11/17, Late Deadline 3/18/17)
      • April 29 (Sat): Nathaniel Patch Piano Competition (Deadline 3/6/17, Late Deadline 3/20/17)
