Amazon Blonde 36er

Why stop at 29"?  36 inches makes everybody smile.

36 vs. 26

I fabricated this Amazon Blonde to be 7 feet long with juicy 36” inch wheels. She rides like a dream

The 36er wheels were skillfully built and the tires hand cut by Ben Witt of Milltown Cycles in Faribault, MN

Here is the break down:

Rims: 36” Airfoil double wall aluminum

Tires: TA 4 ply 36 X 2 ¼ with hand cut tread

Spokes: Really long ones

Hubs:   F White Industries One rear hub 135 spacing

 R Profile w/ 6 speed free hub 135 spacing

Handle bars: Origin 8 space bar 1.5” drop 40 degrees sweep

Brakes: IRD dual bangers

Saddle: Terry Zero

Seat post: Ritchey comp

Stem: Origin 8 -17 degrees 110mm

And the rest of the bits are Shimano Deore LX with some close clearances

The frame and fork consist of a combination of some True Temper Velo Aero, Pacenti Heavy Mettle, and Columbus tubes.

The geometry:

Head tube angle: 73

Seat tube angle 73

Fork rake: 75mm

BB height: 12.5”

Virtual Top Tube length: 25”

Seat tube length: 21”

Chainstay length: 20.75” which left 5mm tire clearance to the curved seat tube

Here are some thumb nails of the 36er in racing action at the almighty Chequamegon ( the orange glove is covering the cast on my left hand and I had recently broken it in a crash at the velodrome)
