The Fort la Reine Museum is located on the east edge of Portage la Prairie and is named for the first fort in this area built in 1739.  The museum is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Canadian Prairies and the history of the City and Municipality of Portage la Prairie.  There are over 25 buildings and thousands of artifacts including donations from the Blight family.
