He says his coaching experience and athletic experience of playing college basketball at Bluffton University will help him push our student-athletes and understand what they are going through on a daily basis.  Coach Boening #2's interest in coaching cross country specifically comes from his recent motivation for running and running with his wife, Laura (Coach Boening #1).

Assistant Coach - Laura Boening

Coach Boening "#1" returns to our coaching staff for her second year. She ran track in middle school and high school and fell in love with running. After high school she attended Bluffton University, majoring in education, and later Otterbein University to earn her graduate degree in education. Over the last few years, she and her husband (Shaun) have enjoyed running together and have run in many 5k races, as well as their first 10k two summers ago. In addition to running, Laura enjoys reading and has taught English Language Arts for the past eleven years at Licking Heights Middle School. Both Coach Boening #1 & #2 also enjoy bringing their puppy, Riley, to practice with the kids!

Assistant Coach - Kaitlin Brown

Coach Brown is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where she studied exercise science. This is her second year of coaching cross-country at Blendon Middle School. Coach Brown graduated from Olentangy Orange High School, where she ran on the cross-country team for four years. She has completed two half marathons (2014 & 2015) and also coaches swim team at the Lakes Country Club. Coach Brown enjoys doing lots of different sports and says, "I am excited to have fun with all of the kids while getting to help them grow as people and as athletes."
