Blandy's Community Garden

Blandy's Community Garden was established in spring 2008 as a way for local families and groups to grow vegetables for their own use and for donation.  The fenced garden includes 25 plots, 75 feet of raised beds, and an arbor.  In exchange for garden space, gardeners agree to donate a portion of what they grow to area food banks, free community meals, and families in need.  Last season over 800 pounds of fresh produce was donated from our garden.

Blandy's community garden includes a pump and hoses for watering, a storage shed for tools and supplies, and compost bins.  Gardeners work when convenient for them, but the garden is always accessible and assistance and advice are available from Blandy staff, volunteers, and  other gardeners.  The garden manager works with participants in the garden and sends out periodic updates by email.  There is no charge for these garden plots.
