Blandford Stour Valley Scout Troop

Blandford Scout Group was founded in 1910 and has grown over the years to its current strength.

In the early 1930's, Lord Portman gave the Scout Association an acre of his Deer Park, and his brother, the Honourable Claude Portman gave the scouts their large HQ building.

Over the years a toilet and shower block has been added, and our Millennium project was a complete refurbishment, both inside and out, with the addition of central heating, insulated ceilings, complete rewiring and extended car parking facilities.

We are also one of the few Scout Groups who can proudly state that Lord Baden Powell has walked our boards.

Members of Blandford Scout Group can be identified by their distinctive black with yellow edged neckerchiefs.

Our Scouts meet between 7pm - 9pm every Wednesday night during school term.

What do our Scouts think?

"Scouting has given me a fantastic opportunity to do lots of activities and things that people who are not in Scouts don’t get to do. It’s about having fun with good friends."

‘It’s good to get out basically. I wasn’t too keen to go to Scouts to begin with but now it’s a good laugh. All the activities we do are fun and I’ve made loads of great mates.’
