  • Cub Scout District Pinewood Derby - Saturday, March, 4 Attached is the 2017 District Pinewood Derby Rules and Unit Commitment Form. As with last year, units will be required to submit the commitment form so we can properly plan and prepare for the Derby. We also have a requirement for units that participate to have volunteers that help out with the conduct of the derby. I am still working out what that volunteer requirement will be, so please bear with me as I work through the final planning factors. If there are major questions or concerns, please let me know.   • 2017 Boy Scout District camporee (Apr 7-9, 2017) REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER YOUR UNIT!We are pleased to announce the upcoming joint Crosswinds and Black River District Camporee that will occur April 7-9, 2017 at Camp Durant.  The theme for this camporee is Chill......I got this!! There will be many activities for the scouts to do during the camporee that are either new to them or will take them into new areas that they may have not experienced before.  We will release the full list of activities in December and start getting unit involvement in these activities at that time.  The cost for the camporee will be $10 per person - scout or scouter.   If you have scouters from your unit that would ...

  • Text Reminder system for the Black River District The Black River District now has a text reminder system.  This is the same REMIND system used by many teachers in Wake County Public Schools.To subscribe, just send a text to 81010 with the messagte @brdistrictText messages sent using this system will be reminders of late-breaking information, as well as reminders to check your email for more-detailed messages.  We anticipate using this also in support of district events (such as Pinewood Derby or camporee)
