Hi All!, Starting August I will be using a separate eBay account for SPORTS Sketch Cards. I will still use BLACKHILT for the NON SPORTS, but wanted Sports to have its own spot. So, if you see my work for sale through the eBay account THESKETCHCARDFORGE know that its me. I will be starting with BASEBALL and then working in different sports as the seasons start up. As always, if you have any suggestions please feel free to email me as I'm always looking for awesome subjects to draw. Below are some samples of my first batch of Baseball Sketch Cards. They will go up on eBay this SUNDAY JULY 31, 2017. I hope you like them!

NEW CARDS FOR SALE.
Thanks to all those AWESOME Patrons who bought some cards last week. Keep checking back for more weekly updates.

Some WALKING DEAD GOODNESS this week at great summer prices. I wanted to bring back some of the characters that I miss form the show. I know Enid is still alive but I would really like to see more of her and Carl.

I have a few NEW cards up for DIRECT sales. For more info please visit the FOR SALE page.

SUMMER 2016

This is turning out to be the year of Star Trek. Not just for me a and my set work but for the entire franchise. Between the Film, the upcoming new series and all the media being produced it seems that Roddenberry's vision for the future is on everyone's mind.  As for me, I was able to finish the second set of the Next Generation Portflio Set and am very close to end of the Star Trek 50th Anni set cards. They span all the Trek movies and series and I asked for 100 cards for this set. To me this is a once in a lifetime set and I wanted to make sure I gave it everything I had. I will be posting the images as soon as the set releases. I CAN show you some Next Gen gems so look below for some samples. I also finished my contributions for the 5th season of Game Of Thrones and am including some samples as well. A few got axed by the HBO people so I would say that there are probably only about 35-40 in the wild.

NOVEMBER 2015

So we have left summer behind and are headed straight to winter. I don't know how I get trough these long dark days. reminds me of Gandalf's words..."we now have but one choice. We must face the long dark of Mordor." Speaking of Middle Earth there is a little good news. All my Cryptozoic Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies have been approved. I hate it when there are rejections. The summer was pretty good as far as cards were concerned. I was able to make cards for the Star Trek VOYAGER set as well as NEXT GENERATION. Current;y I'm working on the Original Series and expect to have those out in the mail by the end of November so keep an eye out for those. In TOS I tried to make most of my cards with multiple characters so you will have a higher chance of pulling art that has at least two actors. Truth be told there are several single portraits that I thought were outstanding but I think you till like your card if you pull one of mine.
I hope you enjoy what's left of 2015 and find some incredible art to add to your collection.

Also the much anticipated BUFFY the Vampire Slayer cards from Rittenhouse are out and Here are the Artist Returns for your viewing pleasure. Sorry, they have all been sold. JANUARY 2015

Many of you have been wondering where I've been all these weeks. Believe me when I tell you that I've not been idle. I've been finishing cards for two upcoming sets from Rittenhouse Publishing ( www.scifihobby.com )
and starting a new one. In addition I finshed several custom orders and that has left me very little time for listing cards. That doesn't mean I haven't done cards for eBay it's just that I have a small window to get them up and if they're not scanned and descritptions typed up I just wait another week to put them up. But they are finally up this week!!! I am also working a little blog that I will link to here and email it those of you on my mailing list. (BTW, if you want to be on my mailing list please shoot me off a request at Blackhiltstudios@gmail.com) There's also a FACEBOOK page you can find me on. Here's a link: FACEBOOK. Go take a look and LMK what you think.

OCTOBER
2014

This has been a very productive year as far as cards are concerned. I've had the privilege to work on some exiting sets for Rittenhouse (Marvel 75th, Marvel Universe, Star Trek Aliens & two more unannounced sets) as well as Cryptozoic's upcoming Hobbit second film set. I can tell you that its a lot work but very satisfying. I know you want to get to some images so I will just say this... Look for some upcoming auctions of: How to train your dragon 2, Carrie (horror film),  Game of Thrones, A LOT of Harry Potter, Lost in Space and some Xena. If you have ANY suggestions PLEASE feel free to email me at Blackhiltstudios@gmail.com and I will get some sketches up on eBay as quickly as I can.

SEPTEMBER 2013

So, Winter has gone and is slowly returning. It's been a very interesting year for The Studio. As some of you know, I had to relocate (move) to save up to buy a house as rents in Miami are extremely high. Although I'm working in a tighter space I can still put out my cards (perhaps not as many as I would like). I have been a bit absent from the auction block because of the many custom orders I've been desperately trying to finish (thanks to those of you who have been keeping me busy.. you know who you are.) but now I'll be listing more on eBay as well as on my website so keep your email boxes open and ready for news on upcoming work. Oh, and don't forget to follow me on TWITTER.

Here are some pieces that you may have seen at auction. CONGRATS to the WINNERS!!

"WINTER IS COMING" -Stark Words

Yes, But it brings new work with it. Take a look at my new cards for sale in the FOR SALE page. I've also added some new PAYPAL buttons. I know many of you in the past have wanted a more direct way of buying so I researched it and here they are. I just hope I set them up right. If there are any problems don't worry, a quick email and I'll get it taken care of. The gallery has also been updated so go take a look to see some of the work of 2012.

Summer (July) News 2012

This Winter was a very hectic one. As many of you know I also work as an Art Teacher at an inner city Elementary School and even though everybody knows how important it is to have art in the schools the funding is just not there for anything but Math, Science and Reading. That means I've had to delve into other certifications to keep my job in case some major cuts do away with classroom art. Sadly I have not been as productive as I have been in the past year but, now during summer, I have been making an effort to catch up. Please visit the GALLERY to see some new custom work that I did these past months as well as some work that sold at auction. I will be placing some work up for sale on the site in the next few weeks as well as regular auctions. If you need anything in particular feel free to email me.  Below are a few new pieces to get you started...

February 2012,

After working furiously for about a month and a half I finally finished work on the Avengers. I've included a sample of a card I did. I went into the late 80's, early 90's issues for inspiration and had a ton of fun revisiting the comics that got me into Marvel in middle school. As for my regular work I've been finishing up several custom pieces as well as a few auctions last month. During January I've been re-watching Battlestar Galactica as a backdrop to the work. I've also had the pleasure of discovering the guys that put out the Slice of Sci-Fi Podcast. If you have not had a chance to listen to them run over there and grab yourself some archived shows and enjoy some truly enlightening conversations on our favorite subjects. Now for some artwork...

Nove
mber 2011 News,

Last month FEDEX  dropped off a box of about 100 cards of  RITTENHOUSE"S upcoming sketch card product and although I was very happy to receive it it's really slowed down my output in November. Nevertheless I've been slowly finishing up the commissions I've received during October. I want to thank all of you who took advantage of the Grand Opening specials. Below are some samples of what I did during October. One particular project that I really enjoyed was a series of cards based on Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman. I always thought she was a beautiful woman but after watching season1 and 3 of the series I came to truly appreciate what a great subject she is for sketch cards. For more of her please go to the GALLERY section.

October 2011:

Sorry about the lack of auctions these past few weeks. After the grand opening I've been very busy with several commissions. Several collectors have taken advantage of the $20 per card Grand Opening Special and it's been awesome, but a bit crazy!! Below are some thumbs of the work they ordered. I also want to extend my deepest thanks to all of you who have stopped by and taken a look around. Enjoy!
