Poinsetta and Holly - NOT FOR SALE
This is actually a piece that I made for a very specific occassion. One of my choirs had a Christmas concert last weekend and the ladies were all told to wear black - but with bright Christmasy jewellery. So of course, I made myself a nice Christmasy kanzashi! This piece features three poinsetta blossoms surrounded in clusters of holly leaves and berries. The poinsettas were made from the lining of a ruined taisho era kimono, while the holly and falls were made from the scraps of my Ayame-sama furisode.
My first year taking my jewellery. The booth was split half kids stuff/ half jewellery. Of course my batteries were dead on set up night, so this shot is from the second day when things were a bit picked over.
