Composed for the 2009 New Hampshire Southwest District Middle School Chorus, Mr. Hazzard’s setting of text from former NH Governor John Lynch’s 2nd inaugural address, has both dignity and beauty, while keeping well within the capabilities of young singers. The expressive work features tight harmonies combined with powerful unison without extremes of range or vocal demands, supported by an engaging piano accompaniment. A fine way to acknowledge the great state of New Hampshire while presenting contemporary music by a living composer.The original SAB work has been adapted to an SATB version perfect for the high school chorus.
