Square 1 Art

posted Nov 10, 2015, 8:13 PM by Brooklyn PTO

Square 1 Art is an exciting opportunity for families to support the PTO by purchasing unique gifts customized with your child's artwork.  This fundraiser is an annual event, and has allowed families to collect cherished artistic memories for many years.  If a piece ever gets damaged, Square 1 Art is able to replace the piece because they archive your child's scanned artwork.

Order Deadline: November 19th

You can order online at  You will need your child's unique online art access code that is found on the order form.   If you would prefer, complete the paper order form that went home with students last week.  Orders are scheduled to arrive in time for the holidays.  Orders done on paper should be sent back to school no later than the 19th.  We cannot ensure orders submitted after this day will be fulfilled and delivered for the holidays.

If you have any questions, please contact PTO representative Becky Severson at or 608-577-3697.

Beat the Winter Blues Fest

posted Oct 2, 2014, 6:45 AM by Brooklyn PTO   [ updated Jan 16, 2015, 5:36 PM ]

Beat the Winter Blues Fest is just about a month away! Hopefully you’ve marked your calendars for 5:30-8:30 pm, Friday, Feb. 20! We wouldn’t want you to miss this fun, family-friendly event for Brooklyn Elementary. Staff and PTO volunteers have started planning this exciting fundraiser and we want to share some of the details with you.  There’s going to be a photo booth, popcorn walk, face painting, cupcake walk, scooter races and more!

Last year’s event raised over $3,000, which went directly back to the teachers and staff at BKE to use in their classroom. We are hoping to make this year’s event just as successful.  We recognize that lines were long for some of the games. So we’re trying to improve that by increasing the number of volunteers and extending the event to 3 hours.

How can I get involved?

1.  Attend! Plan to attend the event and support this fundraiser! Enjoy good times with teachers and staff, grab some dinner at the food booth, and play some really fun games!

2.  Volunteer! We will be looking to double the number of volunteers for face painting and recruit more volunteers to run more games. More games mean less waiting in lines! You can sign up on-line for a volunteer shift at:

3.  Donate! Similar to last year, we would like to have several grand prizes to raffle off at the end of the festival. We are seeking donations or contributions towards prizes. If you are interested, please consider donating a prize basket or contributing money towards the purchase of prizes that PTO will coordinate. Please contact Jill Crowley if you are interested in donating:

4.  Help a teacher! You may also be contacted by your child’s teacher with a request to contribute towards a game or donate items (cupcakes, popcorn, etc). Offer to help with the game for an hour! I’m sure teachers would appreciate a small break!

We are excited to announce a completely hassle-free fundraiser called Shoparoo to earn money for Brooklyn Elementary and would love for you to join. Shoparoo is a free mobile app that lets you earn cash donations just by taking pictures of... your shopping receipts. It’s that easy and just takes a few seconds. The best part is that it doesn’t matter where you shop or what you buy - every receipt counts!

There are schools earning hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars a year through Shoparoo and we should be one of them.

Plus, if you use this referral code, we’ll earn extra donations for your first qualifying receipt. smapt126.

Download the free app here:

Shoparoo is hassle-free school fundraising!

During the 2014-2015 school year, we raised $397!

We almost doubled that during the 2015-2016 school year!
