Square 1 Art

Square 1 Art is an exciting opportunity for families to support the PTO by purchasing unique gifts customized with your child's artwork.  This fundraiser is an annual event, and has allowed families to collect cherished artistic memories for many years.  If a piece ever gets damaged, Square 1 Art is able to replace the piece because they archive your child's scanned artwork.  

Order Deadline: November 19th

You can order online at squart1art.com/shop.  You will need your child's unique online art access code that is found on the order form.   If you would prefer, complete the paper order form that went home with students last week.  Orders are scheduled to arrive in time for the holidays.  Orders done on paper should be sent back to school no later than the 19th.  We cannot ensure orders submitted after this day will be fulfilled and delivered for the holidays.

Hansen's Fundraiser

Check out our latest fundraiser packet that came home with your student this week! Hansen's has something for everyone. This fundraiser replaces the ButterBraids for this school year.

FIFTY% of the sale price comes right back to support teachers and staff at BKE! Sale runs through Monday Oct 26 with deliveries on Nov 19. Thank you for in advance for your help and support!

BKE Fall Costume Dance - Friday, October 23rd

The Brooklyn Elementary PTO will be hosting its annual Fall Costume Dance on Friday, October 23rd.   Festivities begin at 5:30 pm.  We will have a DJ, yummy food & a Bobcat sportswear order pickup.  If you ordered clothing from the Bobcat sportswear order earlier this school year, you can pick up your order at the dance.  Food and beverages are available for sale, and everyone is encouraged to wear a costume.  This is a PTO sponsored event, and not endorsed by the Oregon School District.  The dance ends at 7:30 pm. 

**Please note:  ALL children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Children may not be left at the dance without a responsible party.  

Bucky Book Fundraiser

Reminder: All unsold Bucky Books & payments are due by Wednesday, October 28th.  The due date of October 30th was previously noted.  However, Oregon schools are closed the 29th and 30th for professional development.

Beat the Winter Blues Fest!!

Hopefully you’ve marked your calendars for 5:30-8:30 pm, Friday, Feb. 20!

Schedule of Events:
  • Games Open @ 5:30 pm

  • Ticket Sales Stop @ 7:45 pm

  • Games Stop @ 8:15 pm

  • Tickets must be in Prize Buckets by 8:30 pm

  • Coat check closes @ 8:45 pm


Ticket Prices:

  • 30 for $15

  • 15 for $10

  • 1 for $1

  • Each game is one ticket (2 tickets for the fancier face painting)

  • Every student/child must be supervised by an adult at all times.

  • Lots of prizes can be won! Prize winners will be announced on Monday after the event.

The Brooklyn Elementary PTO is collecting new and gently used CLEAN winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves in all sizes from infants to adult. These items will be handed out to families in need in the Oregon and Brooklyn communities.

*Please check to make sure that all zippers are in working order and that all items are clean before donating!

*No clothes please, we have a limited amount of space to store items and the need is greater in outerwear.

 

COLLECTION DATES - OCTOBER 20th– NOVEMBER 4th

Drop off your items in the large collection bins at Brooklyn, Prairie View,  or Netherwood Knoll Elementary.  There are also drop-off bins at The Zone, Sharkus Hometown Dentistry, Oregon Pool, Firefly, Oregon Community Bank (on Alpine), Bank of Cross Plains, Breithbach Chiropractic, Murphy Dental, and LSM  Chiropractic.

 

We will also be running a collection for new and unwrapped toys for elementary age    students and gift cards for OMS and OHS students.  ($10-$20 amounts to popular teenage places– movies, itunes, Target, etc.)  The dates for this collection will be November 24-December 12 and more info will come closer to that time! Drop-off bins will be in the same locations.

Beat the Winter Blues Fest

Beat the Winter Blues Fest is just about a month away! Hopefully you’ve marked your calendars for 5:30-8:30 pm, Friday, Feb. 20! We wouldn’t want you to miss this fun, family-friendly event for Brooklyn Elementary. Staff and PTO volunteers have started planning this exciting fundraiser and we want to share some of the details with you.  There’s going to be a photo booth, popcorn walk, face painting, cupcake walk, scooter races and more!

 

Last year’s event raised over $3,000, which went directly back to the teachers and staff at BKE to use in their classroom. We are hoping to make this year’s event just as successful.  We recognize that lines were long for some of the games. So we’re trying to improve that by increasing the number of volunteers and extending the event to 3 hours.

 

How can I get involved?


1.  Attend! Plan to attend the event and support this fundraiser! Enjoy good times with teachers and staff, grab some dinner at the food booth, and play some really fun games!


2.  Volunteer! We will be looking to double the number of volunteers for face painting and recruit more volunteers to run more games. More games mean less waiting in lines! You can sign up on-line for a volunteer shift at:

3.  Donate! Similar to last year, we would like to have several grand prizes to raffle off at the end of the festival. We are seeking donations or contributions towards prizes. If you are interested, please consider donating a prize basket or contributing money towards the purchase of prizes that PTO will coordinate. 4.  Help a teacher! You may also be contacted by your child’s teacher with a request to contribute towards a game or donate items (cupcakes, popcorn, etc). Offer to help with the game for an hour! I’m sure teachers would appreciate a small break!
