The BizLearn.Net Project Team with Partners from Poland, Germany, Estonia, The Netherlands, Italy, France, Portugal & Sweden Met at The Exchange in Leicester.

“One of the best venues I have ever been to for a meeting” was one of the comments from one impressed member of the BizLearn.Net project that attended the second Grundtvig Partnership project meeting hosted by Exponential Training & Assessment.

The Exchange Bar, a quirky bar in Leicester’s cultural quarter, was chosen as the unusual venue for the second partner meeting.

Exponential Director, Michelle Moore said, “The Exchange, opposite the curve theatre, opened less than two years ago in what was one of Leicester’s old, empty buildings.”

“We chose it because the aim of our BizLearn.Net partner meeting was to exchange ideas and information with our partners. Another reason is that the project is all about helping entrepreneurs to develop their business. Anna Webb, is a young entrepreneur who with very little capital is succeeding and creating jobs for local people.”

This was the first time The Exchange has hosted a business meeting, but despite some teething troubles, all 30 of the BizLearn.Net project partners agreed it epitomised the spirit and challenges facing entrepreneurs. Whilst The Exchange is not the traditional smart, corporate venue that big businesses would choose to hold a meeting, the Exchange team is friendly and eager to please its customers and it provides a creative, relaxed environment for people to hold their meetings.

As for the Biz.Learn.Net project, it will result in the creation of an innovative learning platform for entrepreneurs throughout Europe. BizLearn.Net will result in a virtual learning network where entrepreneurs just like Anna can exchange and share their knowledge, experiences and key learning points with each other. The way entrepreneurs interact and use the BizLearn. Net platform will totally reflect their needs and how they want to use it. Its design will be led by the business owners themselves, not by education or business experts.

BizLearn.Net is just one of several international projects in which local management and business training specialists, Exponential Training & Assessment is involved. “This is the third group of European Partners that we have hosted in Leicester this year”, said Michelle Moore. She added, “We always come to Leicester and every time people say how impressed they are with our wonderful city – they love the shops, the history and now they love The Exchange.”
