It was brought to my attention that this is
our very own Rex Newman’s 50
th year
keeping vintage Volkswagen’s alive. I’m
sure a lot of you have taken advice on how
to work on your cars from Rex. Many of
you have had your engines serviced by Rex
that are still in your cars today. He had an
apprenticeship straight out of high school
working as a mechanic for Volkswagen.
And since 1967 he has been helping us
and countless others keep their vintage
Volkswagen’s alive and running. So on
behalf of myself, BiState VW club and the
overall Volkswagen community, we would
like to thank Rex for his service.
