Who We Are

The Birch Glen Residents' Association represents approximately 330 households in the Birch Glen neighbourhood, part of the Clarkson/Lorne Park area of Mississauga, comprising the following streets:  Andros Blvd., Ithaca Court, Kos Blvd., Lefkas Court, Nesdale Court, Silver Birch Trail, Zante Crescent and Johnson's Lane.  The represented area is located on the north side of Lakeshore Road West (between Lorne Park Road and Clarkson Road), and is bordered by Birchwood Park on the west and the main CN and GO Lakeshore rail line on the north. The neighbourhood is located within the prestigious Lorne Park school district.

We are fortunate to be situated within Mississauga's Ward 2, an area that is blessed with extremely active ratepayer associations -- ours is one of those active associations. Members of our executive participate in discussion and focus groups, steering committees and public liaison committes dealing with important issues relating to the Clarkson/Lorne Park community. Some of these have included:

  • Petro-Canada Public Liaison Committee (ongoing)
  • Clear Scents Public Working Group for the Lakeview and Clarkson Wastewater Treatment Facilities
  • Focus Group, Rio-Can/Homesense plaza in Clarkson Village
  • Focus Group for the Southdown District Policies Review (2007-2008)
  • Focus Group, Clarkson Village Study (2005-2009)
  • Focus Group, proposed Clarkson Manor condominium townhouse project on Lakeshore Road West near Birchwood Park (2004-2008)
  • Steering Committee, Bexhill Forcemain/Pumping Station relocation (2003-2005)
  • Focus Group, Clarkson Crossing retail plaza on the former CFRB land at Southdown Road and Royal Windsor Drive (2002)
  • Residents' action group against building of proposed natural gas-fired electrical generating plant in Clarkson Southdown Industrial District and area of south Mississauga and Oakville defined by the recent MOE-conducted Clarkson Airshed Study (1997 - 2012)

We feel it is very important for our Association directors and residents to participate in committees of this sort, and use this site to update residents about upcoming events and issues of concern to our community and neighbourhood on an ongoing basis.
