Welcome to the Nano-Opto-Biophysics Research Group at San Francisco State University!

The overlapping dimensions of molecular biology, nanoscale sicence and engineering, and wave optics provide opportunities of exciting research crossing the boundaries of these seemingly non-overlapping disciplines. The nano-opto-biophysics research group at SFSU focuses on studying the optical properties of nanoscale materials and structures, and explores the applications of these properties in bioimaging, single molecule sensing, and technologies for display and information processing.

If you are interested in conducting research in interdisciplinary areas, please contact the PI at huizhong@sfsu.edu. All STEM majors at SFSU are welcome!
