BioBuilder lets us design living cells to tackle today's challenges. What will YOU build with biology?

DO YOU LOVE BIOLOGY? Join the Andover High School BioBuilder Club and be one of about 30 teams worldwide to collaborate with valuable mentorship from MIT, in order to design organisms in the brand new field of Synthetic Biology!

  • Where: Every 1st and 4th Tuesday after school in room 315

NEED SOME INSPIRATION? HERE ARE SOME PAST IDEAS:
  • Use genes in E.coli to degrade pesticide (Kaby, Hannah, Rachel, Adiba, and Cathy from AHS!)
  • Desalination using genes from tilapia (TJ and Ayan from AHS!)
  • Break down caffeine in the body (Brockton High School)
  • Use a cream to break down splinters (Acton-Boxborough High School)
  • Make a space mask with bacteria to generate oxygen for astronauts (Littleton High School)
  • Break down plastic in the ocean (Somerville High School)
WHAT WILL YOU BUILD? Come to Room 315 every first and fourth Tuesday after school!
