A friendly and enthusiastic person currently living in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. I originally hails from a small and beautiful town in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam. After graduating from a local high school, I have been accepted to study Electrical Engineering in the Talented Program from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, one of the most reputable Universities in my home country for Engineering. Graduated in 2014, I just thought this is suitable time to try something new and then decided to go to South Korea for a Master degree.

My time in Korea was really, really hard what I never experience such kind of things before. You believe or not, we (including other Lab members) always stay from 10 am to 2 am in Lab almost everyday. People there work hard, then we should (or must) follow them. In return, I have gained many many things: research experience, papers, skills dealing with supervisors, etc. The most important thing is to create a concrete background which allows me to get better opportunities elsewhere.

I did not have to wait so long. Two months after finishing Master, then received admission from Newcastle University, England to continue PhD degree. I am happy here. I can do and enjoy research now under a moderate pressure.

Well, I would like to introduce my name. My Vietnamese name is Vũ Văn Bình and you can just call me 'Binh'. I have been in Seoul for more than two years and, therefore, I have a Korean name: 빈. British friends pronounce my name as "Been" or "Ben". Any above kind of pronunciation should be acceptable to me.

At the moment, I'm a PhD student at Electrical Power Group, School of Engineering, Newcastle University, UK from October, 2016. As mentioned, I received the B.E degree from Vietnam in 2014 and the Master degree from Soongsil University, Korea in 2016, both in Electrical Engineering. My current research interests include all general topics related to power electronics, especially wireless power transfer for Electric Vehicles.

This site updates mainly on my research activities. My publications and citations can be viewed on Google Scholar or Research Gate or IEEE Xplore. I uploaded all my papers on Research Gate, in which you can download them for free. Hopefully, it can benefit somebody out there who want to access these papers but without IEEE account.

Besides research, I am very keen on football, modern history and new trend technologies. I currently manage a fanpage on Facebook namely Romanista Vietnam. AS Roma is my favorite club for 17 years.
