Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Person-Centred)

Member of the British Association for the Person-Centred Approach

Three years of counselling training, including significant client work and personal therapy, led to qualification as a counsellor in 2003. My approach to work with clients has been to seek as much variety as possible, always working as safely as possible, while employed and when working for free. This has included significant experience:
* in a Women’s Centre;
* in a community counselling agency, with people from a broad cross-section of social backgrounds, presenting with conditions across the spectrum of psychological and emotional difficulties;
* in a specialist agency with people of varying sexual orientations, including those questioning their sexuality and those becoming their transgender identities;
* in an FE college, working with staff and students;
* in an agency working with young people (13 - 26 years old).
