Congratulations to our 2011 NFL Quint Pool Champion -- Jeff Esteves
The final playoff standings can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgXtfKYaEYIudHhsU1V5Y0syalp1aUpDVmdnS2hyY3c&hl=en_US#gid=0
Jeff started the season by missing his week 1 pick, putting him into dead last place, and then picked a losing Ravens in week 2, digging the hole even further. From there, he won five straight games before missing another pick and getting assigned -6.75 points, dropping him quite a few spots again. Undaunted, he won 7 of his final 9 games and finished in third place overall in the Regular Season Standings. In the playoffs, he was the only one to correctly pick all four wildcard games--gaining a one point advantage over second place finisher Chris Chavez and the 4th place finisher myself, and a 2 point advantage over 3rd place finisher Rob Flachs. I took the lead after the divisional round of games, sweeping those four, but it was Jeff who correctly picked a Giants over Patriots Super Bowl, and those decisive Championship games and Super Bowl ended up making Jeff Esteves our 2011 champ!
The Hall of Champions:

Here are the final season-ending awards:
The Money Winners:
Playoff Champs:
1st- Jeff Esteves (26 points) - $850
2nd- Chris Chavez (25 points) - $230
3rd- Rob Flachs (24 points) - $20
Regular Season Champ:
Holly Vaezi - $100
The Non-Money Awards (and more):
Regular Season MVP: Holly Vaezi - This award doesn't necessarily have to go to the Regular Season Champ, but it was a toss up between Holly Vaezi and Lisa McCall. They were pretty much battling back and forth for the #1 regular season spot all season long, and it's got to go to Holly for winning that battle.
Comeback Player of the Year: Jeff Esteves - Second year in a row of the champ also getting this award, but it should be noted that Jeff finished in 56th place last season. Quite a turnaround, going from a 4-13 season to winning the whole thing a year later.
Falloff of the Year: Alex Buccini - Alex started the season 7-1, the best record of the first half of the season. From that point, though, he would only win two more games and ended up finishing 9-8 and missing the playoffs by 30+ points.
The Just Fell Short Award: Salvatore Cardinale - This one goes to the player who finished just outside of the playoffs. It came down to a missed pick in week 9, costing him -4.5 points. He missed the playoffs by a point and a half, and from what I'm told he was planning on taking the Giants to win it all.
"E" for Effort Award: Genevieve Bejarano - This award goes to the lowest ranked participant who kept making picks every week. Genevieve stayed dedicated to making smart picks despite none of the breaks going her way. A lesser person would have given up on the season or would have told her husband to shut up already about making her weekly pick, but to her credit she quietly kept at it until the end.
"F" for Barely Any Effort Award: Courtney Zorros - Strangely enough, she made only four picks this season, and won all four of them--all within the first six weeks of the season. She never made another pick after week 6.
Best Faction: The Vaezi Sisters - Holly finished in 1st place, Tara finished 4th, and Sarah McCall (maiden name Vaezi) took 12th--all in the orange and all got to pick the playoffs. The Vaezi parents (Ali and Kathi) did not fare as well this season, but they raised their daughters well.
