Some skills we need are:
Event day help
Greet people, register bike donors & adopters, help make
the day awesome for everyone involved!
Write press releases and identify places to send them.
Spanish or other bilingual skills would be wonderful!
Get the word out to other volunteers by distributing fliers to
local businesses & organizations
Sewing & Tool bag construction
Help us create, update, and maintain our roll-up tool bags
like the one pictured at this link
Google Sites experience
Make this website more attractive, informative & reader
Open Office Base or other database experience
Help us create forms and reports
And of course, there is ongoing need for bike repair,
clean-up & cataloging
All skill levels welcome!

Weekly Volunteer Bike Repair Clinics
Location: Community Exchange Bike School
4038 SE Brooklyn St. Portland OR

Mon/Thur 3 - 6 pm
Tue/Wed 7 - 10 pm
Fri 1 - 5 pm
Bikes For Humanity PDX volunteers learn bicycle tune-up and overhaul procedures from a professional curriculum, and use their skills to prepare donated bikes for adoption.
We also need volunteers for computer data entry, administrative work, and promotional activities.
All volunteers can schedule 1-hour of free bench usage time to work on their own bikes after logging 2 hours volunteering for B4HPDX programs.

Weekly Volunteer Mechanics Class
Hours: Thursdays 6pm - 9pm
All volunteers-on-record are eligible to sign up for our mechanics training classes. Check our upcoming events to sign up for the 8-week class (with a ninth class for makeup or special needs).
Depending on availability, volunteers may start at any time in the
9-week cycle. Classes are going on NOW!
