Free Public Tune-Up Clinics

Throughout the year, Bikes for Humanity PDX offers Free Public Tune-Up Clinics at a variety of events and venues in the Portland area. This is a way for our volunteers to practice their skills and act on our mission of enabling self-sufficiency in bicycle maintenance and commute. We want to help you keep riding a safe, reliable bike!

At our Free Public Tune-Up Clinics, we can help by
  • Fixing a flat
  • Adjusting brakes
  • Adjusting gears
  • Finding what’s making that noise, rattle, etc.
  • Doing other minor adjustments and repairs

What to expect

Sign in with your name, a description of your bike’s problem, and initial a waiver to allow us to work on your bike. If we are busy, you may have to wait until one of our volunteers can help you.

When it’s your bike’s turn, please watch and assist our volunteer mechanic, and learn more about how your bike works!

If we need to use parts to complete the repair, we ask you to pay for them.* At these events, we have only a limited supply of small parts available such as tubes, brake pads, cables & housings. If we don’t have the parts needed available, we can recommend local shops to assist you further.

Donations to offset the cost of our supplies and events are very welcome!
