B4HPDX Volunteers Helped Improve 61 Bikes - David Douglas HS Fix-It Fair

A record finish at the final Fix-It Fair of this winter season!

61 bikes from fair participants fixed or improved, thanks to B4HPDX, Bike Farm, and PBOT volunteers.
Bike-move of equipment and tools was a fun 12-mile round trip ride in nice weather.

Seven B4HPDX volunteers moved all equipment by bicycles from our bike school to Rosa Parks School and provided free bike repairs for 37 riders together with Bike Farm volunteers.

Group Ride & Social event - 2/26

Sunday, Feb 26, 2012

Where: 
Madison Plaza, Eastbank Esplanade (Under Hawthorne Bridge outside of Firehouse) (map)

Description: 
Easy Group Ride led by the volunteers of Bikes for Humanity PDX

Start: Madison Plaza, Eastbank (under Hawthorne Bridge next to firehouse).

Time: 10 am assemble, tires roll at 10:15 am

Pre-ride Safety Checks: from 9:30 am - 10:15 am, volunteer mechanics will have mobile tools/pump to help make simple bike adjustments, pump up tires, and assist with safety checks

Eastbank Esplanade south to Springwater Corridor to Sellwood Bridge, cross Sellwood Bridge, return through Willamette Park (short bathroom break), South Waterfront, Waterfront Park, meal break in Chinatown (Dim Sum, vegetarian, & vegan dishes available), return to Madison Plaza after meal via Steel Bridge & Eastbank Esplanade

All riders welcome, easy pace, around 11.5 miles flat, no rider left behind. All riders are requested to sign liability waiver prior to participation in ride

Ride event will be posted to public calendars, and the public is invited to participate

NE Sunday Parkways

This Sunday, September 26th from 12pm - 5pm at the NE Corner of NE Oneonta St. & NE Claremont Ave.  B4HPDX will be on hand to provide repair assistance for Sunday Parkways riders and let them know about the Bikes For Humanity project and organization.
