This is different from my 53A because it has barrel springs in front. My '46 model has the smaller pencil springs. The change was made mid-year in 1947. This belongs to a friend of mine and he says it has not been restored. I wish I had not ehnanced the color on that one. It's not really that red, but close. I assume it has been parked indoors for a lot of years. I don't think that rear tire is available any more. I am restoring one of these (slowly) and I am using the same tire front and rear. The engine is a two-piece block Husky with 4 hp. Not fast, but a good engine. "Two-piece" means that the oil sump bolts to the bottom of the block and can be removed. It is cast iron and holds about a quart of oil. Later Husky engines had a flat, sheet-metal oil pan that was bad to leak. Notice barrel springs front and rear and under the seat. The rider is on six springs and big, fat, low-pressure tires. Unfortunately there are no shock absorbers, or as they say in the mother country, "dampers."

ha ha, not so fast uphill =) here in asker the max speed i've gotten up hill is 30 km/h, but down hill it can go way faster than that =) on flat ground it goes the speed limit so no worries =) i wrote helmet cam, but actually it was a handlebar cam =) UPDATE: 30km/h up this hill was when the tires were deflated to 10psi. after i filled the tires to their max pressure (36 psi) i could do around 40km/h and in 4th gear. before i had to have it in 3rd gear. inflated tires make a huge difference! the bike also is a lot steadier when driving. with the deflated tires it was wobbly sometimes and would suddenly pull to one side. when i got the bike i just assumed the tires were completely inflated, but after 250 km i realized they weren't, and the funny thing is that it was a little school child who pointed it out to me =) hilarious.
