Day 295: Just me and my rock
Day 295: Just me and my rock
I can't quite figure out what is wrong with me today. I don't think I am sick but I just can't get myself going today. I came home from work last night and was so tired I just laid down and went to sleep. Woke up several hours later with a bit of a headache. It was almost 8 o'clock by that time which meant I knew I was going to have trouble getting back to sleep. Did some stuff around the apartment and cleaning up and such and then had some left over pizza and watched The Office. Talk about an exciting Friday night at Casa de Dshalock. So anyway finally fell asleep around 2 am and woke up this morning at 11. Had no energy and still kind of had that headache so after surfing the web a bit I popped a DVD in and laid on the couch and fell asleep again. Ended up having some really strange dreams. I was looking out a window looking at the ocean and I saw a bunch of ships. I ran outside to investigate and it was a bunch of landing craft with people jumping off and running on to the shore. They all seemed kind of happy and excited like they were a bunch of sailors getting some shore leave. I think I was there taking pictures because I kept running to keep up with them. The beach morphed into an office building and I was still running with the crowd when I got to a door I opened it and held it open as this line of people streamed through the door and down this long hallway. The next thing I know I was alone in the hallway and a woman with a baby came by and walked down a stairwell and I followed her. She went into a room and placed the baby in a tub of water and then left the room. I stayed in the room and then walked over to the tub of water thinking it was kind of strange she would leave the baby like that. When I looked at it I tried to look into it's eyes but when I did I realized it was a doll not a real baby. After that I don't remember any more of the dream. I don't often remember my dreams for very long after I wake up but this time this little sequence from my unconscious seems to have stuck with me. I finally woke up after 6 PM tonight. I decided I really needed to get out so I went to see the movie Michael Clayton. Pretty good flick but not the best movie to watch when you have a bit of a headache. So tonight it's just me and this rock I picked up from the parking lot. Exciting life.

I know it's blurred, but my friend was making me laugh so hard, I couldn't hold the camera steady even though I had it propped up on a low fence. I love the sharp color contrast and wanted to share it anyway. Seems like I've been getting lots of blurry shots lately so I'm going to order a gorilla pod immediately :-). Well, maybe after I nap! The tripod will have to wait a bit. It's a tribute to a nice day and time spent with my friend, Clyde. Sorry I haven't been uploading much, I'm not disappearing. I've had some pressing family demands that have left me with just a little time. My mother had hip replacement surgery this week and I've been spending time with her at the hospital. Things are going well and I'm very grateful for that, but the nights in the hospital have left me very tired. If I haven't acknowledged your comment, I apologize and hope to do better in the future.
