BLIA Purpose

A group of residents and lake supporters banded together in 1956 in a bid to keep Big Lake thriving. The Big Lake Improvement Association (BLIA) was formed. Membership is voluntary and Board Members are all elected volunteers. BLIA holds fundraising activities throughout the year to raise funds that can be used to help offset costs associated with pumping water into the lake and other activities associated with maintaining the lake.

Through our fundraisers, BLIA also provides for participation in and support of member and non-member community social activities and events, to become better acquinted with members and others in the community and to provide an atmosphere of friendliness, goodwill, and helpful information for the local community.
