Mannequin in Boyd's and reflections, Philadelphia, PA I think there's a poem or short story here, but I don't have the energy to do it justice right now. Don't know if it made national news, but a few months ago the "let's beat it to death" sensationlized story of the week was about a couple who had moved into a "luxury condo" and for months/years had been stealing the identities of their neighbors in the building. I think the story ended up getting a lot of traction here not because of the growing fear/trend of identity theft, but because the female in the lowlife duo happened to have implants and the Daily News was able to publish photo after photo of her showing tons of cleavage. Anyway, the building reflected in the background is where they lived - the Belgravia. If I was looking for a condo, I wouldn't necessarily choose not to live in that building based on the story. My personal bias is that the real estate company doing the converstion does floor plans as if they had no idea how actual human beings live in a residence (i.e. most people have TV's; these TV's go in the living room; a living roon with the dimensions of a hallway makes it impossible to put a TV...let a lone a sofa in there...just common sense stuff that you don't have to be an architect to understand, but apparently some architects don't understand). This same outfit converted a really, really great building down near Jeff - the Victory Building @ 10th & Chestnut - into condos and my girlfriend and I got a tour. In my opinion, whoever did the floor plans for the Victory Building ought to be forced to actually live there for a year as part punishment, part education on how people actually live.

1 Floor plan Descripction: well room on the right is the living room then dining room and at the left the kitchen, the guest's bathroom is at the front of the sairs and the....din't know it's name in english....the place where you wash your clothes...well it?s hiden in the kitchen behind the....mmmm inside a cabinet, i think youc an locate it, well the reason that strange window is in the dining area is because there was a horrible view in there but fortunetly quite a nice one at the right so i decided to use it, but the window creates a nice effect i also used the same idea in the kitchen, that view wasn't worth it but it's a different kind of window, it's white translucent if that's the word and the fridge it's at the center, becoming the most important part of the kitchen. Other details: well the living room and stairs have a double ceiling if that's how you call it haha. This project was a collaboration, i can say that the kitchen, living room, double ceiling and the windows concept was my idea, the others were collaborations that includes the main bedroom, the bathroo wich i wanted above that cabinet behind the dining table, and well i think that's it.....the other room or studio wich you can fin in other pictures was also a mix between the ideas of Xoxhitl and mine.

Living Room: A Novel
The follow-up to her highly praised debut story collection, The First Hurt, Rachel Sherman’s Living Room is a beautiful and disarmingly direct portrait of a family in trouble. With the tone of a modern-day Jewish The Ice Storm set in Long Island, imbued with Alice Munro’s fascination with personal history, Living Room is a deep exploration of the ripple effects of mental illness on a family, as well as a look at generational differences in mating and marriage, and a wry, wise look at suburban angst.
