Azure earned her BS in Physics and Optics at Stony Brook University, where she did research in Hal Metcalf and John Noe's Laser Teaching Center, and in Dominik Schneble's BEC lab. She spent two summers at NIST in Kris Helmerson & Bill Phillips' BEC lab.
During her graduate career thus far, Azure has attended two workshops, for which she is very grateful - L'Ecole de Physique des Houchesand the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. She is supported by a Provost's Fellowship from the University of Rochester and GAANN. After she completes her PhD, Azure hopes to do a post-doc in ultracold atomic physics or quantum optics, and pursue a career in research with an emphasis in science outreach. Presently her science outreach efforts are centered on Camp Quest, the non-profit educational summer camp for children from secular families, where Azure acts as program director and a board member.
